Design Your Own Invitations Free With Pixlr

Throwing a birthday party, wedding or baby shower or just a backyard summer party? Design your own invitations FREE and save your budget for other things.  You can create a DIY invitation with a FREE online program called Pixlr. You can save money while planning your child’s party by designing your own invitation. I’ve created several invitations with this program now. Once you determine the size you want, its easy to get started and there are so many options!

You can use a picture of the guest of honor and fade out the background by changing the opacity. You could find free background images to use, Free Pretty Things For You has lots of freebies that can be used. Or you can follow your theme and use characters or background images that match your party decor. Last year, I designed a CareBear invitation.

This year, we had an Art Party so I used splashes of paint to be the anchor of the design. Just make sure the images you choose to use are indeed free, if they are not your own, and they are not copyright protected.

Pixlr has several different options of programs at various levels.  They even have a mobile app. There is an advanced layered program that works a lot like Photoshop. They also have a program where you can make collages, upload an existing image and change the style of the image, add text, borders and backgrounds. The best part… all of their programs are simple and easy to use!

You can get started here.

I also love using this program to quickly make my photos black and white or add text to them. Have fun creating!

About Cassie

I'm a God-fearing mom of three beautiful children, a wife to an amazing husband who keeps me grounded, a people person, a lover of the great outdoors and the Blue Ridge Mountains. I love the simple things in life like a rainy Sunday morning, too much sugar in my coffee and hydrangeas. I know very little, but am learning day by day by living in His grace.
