I did my best – a letter to my daughters

To my daughters,Ididmybestasamother

I did my best.

There are days when you both cry inconsolably and the comfort of my arms doesn’t calm you down right away, but I want you to know I give you my best.

There are days when you need a little more discipline then normal and time-out becomes an emotion space with tears and heartache (for both you and I), but I want you to know I give you my best.

There are days I nurse and pump around the clock and still feel like I’m coming up short, but I want you to know I give you my best.

There are days I feel too tired to go on or play one more game, but I want you to know I give you my best.

There are days when dinner doesn’t meet your expectations and you don’t want or like it, but I want you to know  I give you my best.

There are days when you are beaming with energy and I feel like I can barely put one foot in front of another, but  I want you to know I give you my best.

There are days when folding tiny clothes and washing bottles seems endless, but I want you to know I give you my best.

There are days where my relaxing bath turns into a family bathroom event, but I want you to know I give you my best.

There are days that I don’t video or photograph your precious moments, but I want you to know I give you my best.

There are days that the house is a mess, bed are unmade and the floors are dirty, but I want you to know I give you my best.

There are sweet moments I forget to document or write about, but I want you to know  I give you my best.

There are days that I don’t feel like a supermom, but instead feel like I need a superhero to rescue me, but I want you to know  I give you my best.

There are days you fall down and I can’t catch you, but I want you to know  I give you my best.

There are days you cry and nothing I do seems to help, but I want you to know  I give you my best.

I don’t always do the right things, I make mistakes, I can’t always fix the situation and I feel like I fail you sometimes, but I want you to know that every day I wake up, I give you my very best.

Love,

Mom

About Cassie

I'm a God-fearing mom of three beautiful children, a wife to an amazing husband who keeps me grounded, a people person, a lover of the great outdoors and the Blue Ridge Mountains. I love the simple things in life like a rainy Sunday morning, too much sugar in my coffee and hydrangeas. I know very little, but am learning day by day by living in His grace.
