How to decorate with mason jars

masonjarscollageThere’s a few issues with hosting parties with different themes, the cost associated with decorations and finding a place to store them after the soiree is over. That’s why we love items that can be upcycled and repurposed. I’ve posted about using soup can tins as vases before, but another one of our favorite staples to use is mason jars. Not only do these little glass jars embody some of my favorite things (southern, vintage, nostalgic, shabby-chic) but they can also be transformed in so many ways! From drinking glasses to utensil holders to vases these little gems have multiple purposes. You can also dress them up or down depending on the occasion.

We love the idea of wrapping lace or burlap around the jar for a rustic feel. You can also spray paint them a metallic gold for a Holiday party of get them in vintage blue for a baby boy shower. I usually incorporate different ribbons at each of the parties I host to give them a fresh new look.

I used mason jars to adorn the aisle of my wedding and be the centerpiece on my tables. This gave my wedding a rustic, shabby chic feel and helped to pull together my theme.

About The Mommies

We’re two moms who love to celebrate, encourage and share our daily wins and challenges in motherhood and faith. We believe it's the little things in life that are the things that truly matter and God is sending us tiny miracles every day if we open our eyes and heart enough to see them. We know being a mom is the best and hardest job we will ever have the honor of calling our title and that's why we created a space to share our journey.
